Bakers Now Lace Cake With Canadian Loud In Osun - NDLEA

The Osun NDLEA Commander, Nnadi Chidi CN has warned parents to be vigilant of what their children consume at birthday party or any get together as bakers now use Canadian Loud to lace cake.
The commander made the disclosure at a town hall meeting on drug abuse prevention held with school principals in Osogbo, on Tuesday.

Chidi in his address gave example of a lady who was recently apprehended by the officers of the Command in Osogbo. The commander said they intercepted the driver bringing the package for her from along Gbongan road.

According to him, "Parents and Guidance needs to be very vigilant of what their children consume at birthday parties this days. A lot is happening. Currently we arrested a lady who is baker in Osogbo.

"She ordered for a Canadian Loud from Lagos State and it was weighbilled through a commercial driver as message. On getting to Gbongan, our officers intercepted him and he claimed innocence of it.

"We led him to Osogbo and the lady came to collect the stuff. It was on that point that we got her arrested and she pleaded that it was a parent that requested for the drug to be laced with cake for her daughter's birthday.

"You can see how bad it's. So, imagine little children eating from the cake. They would have gotten intoxicated and tested positive for drug after that".

Also, the Commander warned school principals on food and drink vendors coming to their schools. He stated that some of these drugs dealers now pretend as vendor.

He said they now mix soaked Milo tea with cannabis and sell to students as ordinary tea. He admonished them to take the awareness campaign back to their various schools, adding that they should not hesitate to contact the NDLEA areas offices whenever they find any drug dealers around their schools.
