ACHSO: The Pride Of ACHSOSANS
By Akindele Akeju
As my great Alma Mater clocks 45 years of its establishment, it's pertinent to show gratitude to those who laid the solid foundation we today's generation are building upon and as well appreciate individuals who have in one way or the other contributed immensely to its progress.
As we know that there are five local Government that makes the Ogun West Senatorial Districts namely: Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko/ Afon, Ipokia and Ado Odo/Ota.
Egbados known as Yewa had always been very active in politics of Ogun West Senatorial Districts and they have been versatile enough to have produced some prominent Sons and Daughter who have represented the Ogun State and Nigeria at some very high levels in the helms of affairs.
History has it that, these set of candidates contested for the position of Councilor race are Chief Mulero Balogun, Chief I.O Akinlolu and Hon Chief Mufutau Akande Ajibola in December 1976 and later Hon Chief Mufutau Akande Ajibola become the first Councilor for Owode.
Hon. Akande Ajibola first project was laying-in-foundation of the school ACHSO and the herculean task begun.
He (Ajibola) later, got elected into the state assembly in 1979 through the platform of the then Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and Hon. Ajibola increased the number of Secondary School in Ogun West namely Owode Secondary Schools, Owode Ilobi – Erinja High School, Ilobi/Erinja and other achievement recorded was Owode Town Hall Community Primary School Elekute, Owode.
In 1977 he was succeeded in bringing Electricity to Owode in 1986. Honor is a reward of virtue Hon. M.A Ajibola has done his part to ensured that Ogun West was moved out from political darkness to severance lighting, no doubt, the political agenda that Unite Ilobi – Erinja and Owode together call it the idealogical goals of Unity Party of Nigeria.
Thus, in retrospect he put the right peg in right round hole. Since the establishment of ACHSO the people of Owode and environs were yearning for good education for their children.
As Jane Austen said “it is a truth universally acknowledge that a bachelor in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife” So, that was the parents ambition for their children.
Area Community High School Owode is a reputed to have a legion of her products doing well in the helms of affair both home and in the Diaspora, they are well known for hard Work, Valor,
Scholasticism.
Thus, if the general belief is that the Ogun West people are smugglers in nature simply because they border with Benin Republic but here lies the antithesis.
The Egbados (Yewas) unarguably have played most significant roles in political struggles of this country and they have blessed with fertile land for farming.
ACHSO has produced many scholars and captain of industries such as current President of Commerce and Industries Hon KLM, that also doubled as first Senior School Prefect of this great citadel of learning, Hon Akinlade, former House of Representatives Member to mention few.
