Just In: 27 Rivers Lawmakers Dump PDP For APC, Set To Impeach Fubara

The ongoing political drama in Rivers State has taken a very interesting turn as 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), BEYOND AFRICA gathered.

The medium had reported that things are not right between the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

A member of the Assembly, Enemi George, confirmed that the 27 lawmakers were under the leadership of Martin Amaewhule.

He said the decision was taken during their sitting on Monday morning

Osun LG Election: Ife North Students Organize Debate For Chairmanship Aspirants

The National Forum of Ife North Students has concluded plans to organise a debate for the three Chairmanship Aspirants in the local government ahead of the forthcoming Osun 2025 LG election. According to the students in a statement made available to BEYOND AFRICA on Sunday, the debate would allow the leading aspirants to present their plans and visions for the community and also allow residents to engage directly with the aspiring leaders.
